Given our location on an Arctic island, weather is a factor we must always consider. Occasionally, when fierce winds sweep in from the Atlantic, access to Littleisland Lighthouse may be temporarily restricted for safety reasons. Rest assured, such instances typically last no more than a day, happening no more than 3 to 4 times annually.
In the rare event that bad weather affects your planned arrival, resulting in boat transfer issues, we will refund 50% of your stay and assist in finding alternative accommodation until the storm subsides.
For air travellers, we strongly suggest booking flexible tickets which can be changed to accommodate for potential weather issues on your arrival day. Alternatively, we advise keeping a day or two open before and after your stay at the island. As a quayside stopover, we recommend an overnight stay at Skagakaia on route to the lighthouse.
